Happy Birthday Google!

·

This month is the Google’s 10th birthday. Surprised to listen Google will celebrate on the month of September; yes they won’t celebrate on a fixed date. Even I surprised to see on blogs and news sites that varied dates they are posting about Google 10th birthday.
Few words from Google:
Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake. For more on Google’s history:http://www.google.com/corporate/history.html

Meaning of ‘Google’:
The name ‘Google’ is a play on the word ‘googol,’ coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner. A ‘googol’ refers to the number represented by the number one followed by 100 zeros. It’s a very large number. In fact, there isn’t a googol of anything in the universe — not stars, not dust particles, not atoms. Google’s use of the term reflects our mission to organize the world’s immense (seemingly infinite) amount of information and make it universally accessible and useful.
Google logo changes:
From time to time we modify the Google logo in honor of holidays celebrated by our users around the world. These special logos - we call them doodles — usually run for 24 hours. You can find an archive of our more popular logo variations at http://www.google.com/holidaylogos.html.
